Dimebox Ballroom is a cozy, rustic cedar barn complete with vintage windows and doors,
corrugated tin features, a limestone and Oklahoma flagstone patio (optionally covered by a unique and beautiful white tent), artisan wooden railings with gorgeous vintage accents and a lovely antique chandelier to cast the room in a cinematic glow. Amenities of the space include a catering kitchen and storage area, outdoor cocktail and/or lounge space draped with strands of cafe lights, men’s and women’s restrooms, our Green Cathedral (an outdoor ceremony space shaded by magnificent oak trees also known as ‘The Three Sisters’), a band/dj stage on the patio, second floor catwalk that follows the perimeter of the interior space, fire pit (hello, S’mores!) and Groom’s Icehouse and Bridal Cabin for pre-wedding preparations.

To give you a little background on us, we’re The Maclaskeys: a family of four that have built and renovated much of the venue space by hand. We’re a family of artists (quilters, graphic designers, ice sculptors, chefs, painters, sculptors) and we work to infuse every aspect of the space with our vision and artistic sensibilities. The daughters, Cheyne and Chase, have lived in the Austin area for over a decade where they would often commute back to their hometown of Montgomery (just north of Houston) to help run events at TJ and Carol’s event space Fire and Ice Hall (a beautiful large tin building that was once a Sinclair Oil pumping station at the turn of the 20th century). In the late summer of 2013, The Maclaskeys sold their property and fulfilled a longtime dream of moving to the Texas Hill Country and continue the family business with Cheyne and Chase at the helm. The place would be Dimebox Ballroom at Fire and Ice Hall in beautiful and historic Georgetown, Texas. We are planning to have three venues, Fire and Ice Hall (the largest), Dimebox Ballroom (the mid-sized) and Gypsy Camp (the outdoor space). Dimebox Ballroom is the first of these venues to be finalized and was ushered in with a very special wedding – Chase’s!

When you host an event at Dimebox Ballroom, it’s a family affair. We know your event is important to you and we’ll treat it as though you’re family. Our chef, Cheyne, has a spread of catering menus to choose from and she takes great pride in offering seasonal, local and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. TJ, our internationally award-winning ice sculptor provides a complimentary tabletop sculpture for each event (and has a massive catalog if you’d like to add more or larger sculptures). Chase, our event coordinator, is also a renowned graphic designer (www.chasemaclaskey.com) and is more than happy to design invitations or paint a sign or two. Whether it’s a wedding or a family reunion, birthday or fundraiser we want it to be as stress-free and spectacular as possible.

Be sure to bookmark our Public Events page to join our next open house or other events open to the public. We are committed to our community (as we were in Montgomery) and hope to host a few fun activities for the great people of Georgetown and greater Austin.
